SAM'S ON THE BEACH

This venture has now closed after what seems to have been a successful run.  They are re-opening next year although in a different site further along the beach.

BEACH DEVELOPMENT GETS GO-AHEAD

  • On 12th February, Cornwall councillors on the Strategic Planning Committee approved CEG's latest planning application relating to the buildings and landscaping of the development on the beaches of Carlyon Bay.
  • There is no doubt this is welcome news for everyone who has witnessed the continuous 'rotting' of the old buildings on Crinnis, including the old Cornwall Coliseum.
  • In the meantime the explosions caused by the bird-scarers on the beach will continue until March.
Further information regarding the Beach development is available at www.carlyonbaywatch.com and at the developer's website www.carlyonbeach.com

  OTHER PLANS ON SEA ROAD

  •  An application has gone to the Council for demolition and rebuild of the property        at no. 35 Sea Road.  The application can be seen on the Council's websiteThe application number is PA14/08875.
  • Meanwhile the rebuild of no. 77 is now complete with very fine stone work on the front wall and the re-turfing of the verge.  We extend a warm welcome to Mr and Mrs Owen
  • The new build at no. 50 is now just about complete and being met with approval.  Welcome to Mr Morelli and family.
BEACH ROAD SHOP RE-DEVELOPMENT

Plans are afoot to modernise the shops and flats in Beach Road.  A representative of the architects, Alan Leather Associates, presented outline plans to the Parish             Council at their January public meeting.  These were well received and will                 include an enlargement of Austells, the fine-dining restaurant, and the creation         of two additional flats as well as a general rationalisation of the structures to the        rear of the block.
